  • The examination at our MRI department is done based upon your filled-out request and Informed agreement – you can download this from the documents section
  • Special indication can be consulted by the phone +420 553 030 802
  • Send patient to the MRI examination with every available previous visual documentation – images from examination of the skeleton, CT and MRI documentation (not only description) and results from all laboratory and helping examinations
  • Patient’s cooperation is necessary during MRI for the whole period of the scan (20 to 40 minutes in resting position, without any major movement), it is necessary to count with sequences during which the patients hold their breath for about 10 seconds during examinations of abdominal and heart.
  • Exact process and the way of examination (including application of the contrast material) is always set by the MRI department doctor after analyses of the clinical and anamnestic data and furthermore, the doctor adjusts the process during the examination, according to the results of the initial sequences of examination.
  • Examination of pre-school children can be done with the assistance of parents, or close person, after previous agreement (according to our experience, it is possible to examine some children from the age of 5)
  • School age children are examined standardly

Absolute contraindication

  • MRI incompatible pacemaker, MRI safety pacemaker after agreement and including filled-out check list
  • Cardioverter - defibrillator (ICD)
  • Neurostimulator
  • Cochlear implant
  • The first trimester of pregnancy (until the 12th week of pregnancy)
  • Metal fragments in the orbit

Relative contraindication

  • Allergy, previous allergic reaction to the contrast material at MRI
  • Claustrophobia
  • Metallic MRI incompatible implants (stents, spirals, clamps, osteosynthetic material) implanted earlier than 6 weeks before our examination

It is important to warn the client about the proper preparation before the examination (an empty stomach 2 hours prior, proper hydration, reducing of metallic parts in the area of interest, not using eye shadows, mascara, make-up, hair gel and spray in the case of head examination).

Brain, orbit

  • MRI of brain, Posterior cranial fossa, hypophysis including dynamic examination of cerebellopontine angles including inner labyrinths
  • MRI of orbits
  • MRI angiography of magistral arteries of brain and intracranial bloodstream
  • MRI angiography of brain veins and venous sinuses

Spine and spinal cord

  • MRI of all parts of the spine (it is appropriate to specify the level of neurological finding and possible affection of the plexus)

Head and neck

  • MRI of soft tissues of the neck
  • MRI angiography of cervical vessels
  • MRI of cranial base
  • Examination of temporomandibular joint
  • Heart and mediastinum
  • MRI of heart with specified requirement – viability, kinetics disorders, heart valves defects, pathology of pericardium
  • MRI of mediastinum
  • Angiography of thoracic aorta, pulmonary arteries and veins

Musculoskeletal system

  • MRI of joint – shoulder, knee, wrist, elbow
  • MRI of soft tissues according the anatomic areas

Abdomen

  • MRI of the liver
  • MRI of the spleen

  • MR fistulography
  • MR angiography of the abdominal and pelvic arteries
  • MR of the retroperitoneum, including kidneys and adrenal glands,

Pelvis

  • MRI of the pelvis with the specification of the requirement
  • MRI aimed at the uterine cervix, detection of the endometriosis in women
  • MRI of the prostate and the seminal vesicles including spectroscopy
  • Dynamic MRI of the pelvic floor
  • MRI of penis and scrotum, including detection of the higher positioned testicle

Angiography

  • Native angiography of the intracranial arterial and vein bloodstream
  • Native angiography of the limb arteries (Nativ system with ECG monitoring of the client) – in patients, who cannot have contrast material applicated
  • Post contrast angiography of all arteries, veins – blood vessels of neck, mediastinum, abdomen, pelvis, limb arteries,
  • Native phlebography of the pelvic veins

Examination of the fetus

  • We provide it after a previous focused consultation from the 13th week of pregnancy

Whole body examination of the skeleton

  • For the detection of the matrix disability
  • Multiple myeloma, metastases
